Chalk Paint, Wax & Varnish

At Painted Country you will find a unique water-based paint by world-renowned interiors expert Annie Sloan in many decorative and historical colours. It has been made specifically for painting furniture, floors, and when used on walls, it gives them a completely matt velvety finish reminiscent of old-fashioned limewash and distemper.
This is the perfect paint for recreating distressed, patinated surfaces. When dry, the paint absorbs wax easily giving it a mellow and protective finish.
Waxes for finishing furniture projects are also available at Painted Country - clear wax for sealing paintwork and a darker 'rustic' wax which can be used to 'antique' or 'age' pieces giving the impression of age and history.

The Chalk Paint is so good to use, it's almost edible! (Please don't try this!!)

Alternatively, we stock 'Dead-Flat' varnishes for finishing your projects. These have a completely non-reflective, non-shiny finish - we stock one for walls and furniture and a stronger version for floors - all designed to go over our chalk paint.
